It's time for Soccer!

Because of the numbers gathered from the soccer interest survey, we'll be doing mostly (or all) co-ed soccer teams and mixed grade groups. This is what other towns that we've been in touch with are doing as well.

The younger teams will have maybe one or two games for fun but be primarily focused on learning about soccer, practicing and skill building.
Pre-K and K (separately) will have Saturday morning only practices (times tbd).
Please note: only kids who are about to start their last year of preschool (old enough for kindergarten the next year) will be old enough for Pre-K soccer.
Grades 1/2 will have Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning practices (times tbd).

The older teams will have will have both practices and games with nearby towns. If we turn out to have too many kids for 1 team per grade range, we will have multiple teams that are evenly leveled (as much as possible) and have color names (such as Blue and White team) for the teams.
There is no actual league that we join for soccer so we are able to determine which towns that we play and can choose to play towns close by to Thetford.
Grades 3/4 will have practice and games on Tuesdays and Fridays after school (time tbd).
Grades 5/6 will have practices and games on Mondays and Thursdays after school (time tbd). Practice time will likely be 3pm or 4pm (based on when the coach is able to do it) and almost all games are scheduled for 5pm.

1/2 Coach M Lavik Wed 3:15-4:15 and Sat tbd first day of practice is Wed 9/4
3/4 Coach L Lacasse and J Jamele schedule still being figured out - first practice Thursday 9/5 3:30-4:30
5/6 Coach N Hill and N Riegler M,W, Th 4:30-6 first day of practice is Mon 9/2

Uniforms:
Performance Tee's are worn for soccer.
Please indicate if you need to borrow one for soccer.

The Rec Dept has many used cleats and some other gear, free of charge. Not all sizes are available. I will be putting the bin out of cleats etc soon.


>> I am adding the non-resident option only for kids who attend school in Thetford but do not live in Thetford.
>> This option is only for students at Open Fields School or TES kids who tuition in from another town. We expect to have many soccer sign-ups so we are not offering it to kids outside of Thetford (aside from the kids noted above).
