Lifeguards:
We have a certified lifeguard on duty at the beach most of the time that we are open. If there is not a lifeguard on duty we will have a "no lifeguard on duty" sign up by the booth where you pay to enter and on the beach as well.
Bathrooms:
Treasure Island has two sets of public bathrooms with changing rooms as well.
Accessibility:
While our goal is to make the beach at Treasure Island wheelchair accessible, we have not yet accomplished this goal. We will update you when we have made appropriate changes so that everyone can access and enjoy the beach area.
Story Time:
Starting on 7/2 (2024) we will have Beach Story Time at noon every Tuesday (last date 8/13). Emily will ring a bell to gather anyone who would like to listen to some stories.
Pickle Ball:
Treasure Island has a tennis court that has partly been converted into a pickle ball court. You may rent the court on a one-time basis for $2 per session or you can get a season pass just for the use of the pickle ball court (this pass is only for pickle ball, you need a separate pass for the beach).
Boat Rentals:
Treasure Island has pedal boats, kayaks and canoes for rental for $5 per rental session.
Family Fun Events at Treasure Island:
Sometimes we hold family fun events at Treasure Island. Details can be found on our
Facebook page,
the town listserv and local bulletin boards.
Weather:
In the case of bad weather, Treasure Island will either be closed or remove everyone from the beach until a storm passes. Treasure Island visitors and beach goers will be told to leave the water, beach and grass areas at Treasure Island and sit in their cars when a storm is incoming or happening.
***Refusing to go to one's vehicle in the case of bad weather will result in your being banned from Treasure Island for the remainder of the season.* Anyone that does not have a vehicle to go to should inform the staff so the staff can help ensure their safety.
If you are not sure if Treasure Island is open due to the weather, please visit
Treasure Island on Facebook or call TI at
(802) 333-3278 to see what the current status is. The phone is only answered during hours of operation.Rentals for Events:
There are two areas at Treasure Island that can be rented: the "island" which is actually a small peninsula and the pavilion which is a covered area with picnic tables and grills.
Please reach out to
treasureisland@thetfordvt.gov to set-up a rental for your next party or other event. Rental fees vary.
